About us

The charity was set up in June 2007 to provide support for the Sisters of St Mary (CMM) who work in Tanzania and Zambia.

This endeavor came about through an initial visit organized by USPG: Anglicans in World Mission, in late 2000. It became apparent that there was a lack of administrative knowledge and funding for the Sisters to go about their work with the disadvantaged in their communities. The demand for help is ever growing and can only be achieved with outside help.

The charity is managed by a group of trustees, who are in regular contact with the Sisters.

The Patrons of the charity are the Rt Rev'd Anthony Priddis, previously Bishop of Hereford and Mother Phillippa CSP,  the Mother Superior of the Community of the Sacred Passion.

We maintain our interest in CMM and their charitable projects with regular visits which we finance out of our own pockets, and not out of the trust's funds.

At present, we bear no administrative costs, and we hope to maintain it in this fashion.

We are part of the Gift Aid scheme whereby we can claim tax relief on any financial support given by British tax payers according to our charity No. 1133344.
